A review of existing documents for the county of Mombasa, estimate energy consumptions in the transport sector and particularly to determine the total demand status by the road, rail, water transport sector in the county. Due to how small Mombasa county is the project wouldn’t focus on air transportation. To determine the share in the transport sector, the project would be keen to find and review available information on different types of vehicles this is to include cars, tuktuks, motorbikes, and buses. Understand the number of vehicles, occupancy, and already distance travelled. Request information from the county transport department and any other entities that houses the type of information and data collected on public transportation, parking information and number of vehicles in the county.
Use focus groups discussion to explore more information and validate some of the data collected. Once information has been complied the component would analysis the information to determine the levels and amount of greenhouse gas emissions.
