A review of existing documents for the county of Mombasa, estimate energy consumptions in the transport sector and particularly to determine the total demand status by the road, rail, water transport sector in the county. Due to how small Mombasa county is the project wouldn’t focus on air transportation. To determine the share in the transport sector, the project would be keen to find and review available information on different types of vehicles this is to include cars, tuktuks, motorbikes, and buses. Understand the number of vehicles, occupancy, and already distance travelled. Request information from the county transport department and any other entities that houses the type of information and data collected on public transportation, parking information and number of vehicles in the county. Use focus groups discussion to explore more information and validate some of the data collected. The Miji Bora project has developed a typology of stakeholders categorized under global, regional, national, local level partners and local citizens of Mombasa. For national and local level partners, stakeholders include local affected communities and their formal and informal representatives, local or national government authorities, as well as different partner organizations. The world is currently being faced by COVID-19 uncertainty and this has continued to present unique and unprecedented challenges to project execution & management. The pandemic has undoubtedly resulted in a rethink of the way we operate. In Kenya, like in many other countries the world over, the spread of Covid-19 had led the government to declare a countrywide curfew and cessation of movement in selected areas. Mombasa county is one of those areas where the government has declared cessation of movement. At 54 per 100,000 people, the county has the highest rate of infection rate in the country. The Miji Bora project has taken appropriate action to ensure the safety and well being of our project team members and staff.  This includes, but is not limited to facilitating colleagues to work from home (mostly undertaking desktop work), encouraging virtual consultations and suspending field activities.
