COMRED a marine conservation and research organization in partnership with Government of Mombasa, eThekwini Municipality (Durban, South Africa), University of Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa), Macquarie University (Australia), Kenya Marine & Fisheries Research Institute (Mombasa, Kenya), ilab Africa (Strathmore University) and UN-HABITAT through the Miji Bora project aims to co-creatively examine the city systems and design practical pathways to becoming a smart and sustainable coastal city.
Miji Bora is a multidisciplinary project comprising of a team of experts from different relevant fields. . Fields of interest and expertise include: urban sustainability, urban ecosystems research, climate change, geospatial science, urban planning and governance, architecture, and marine and social sciences. The team encompasses the principal investigator, co-investigators, project assistants& associates and project interns.
