City Greening
The programme aims at increasing the sustainability of urbanized areas. It is a concept of urban planning relying on the ecosystem services that green infrastructure can supply. In essence, it is Mombasa city meeting with nature, restoring the values of urban ecosystem, minimizing resource and energy consumption, and taking advantage of the ecosystem services of the blue-green natural components.
Plastic Pollution
Increase in population within the coastal city of Mombasa and its neighbors has led to the ever-growing plastic litter within the natural ecology that gets directed to the marine ecosystem leading to an array of global impact such as reduced biodiversity of fish, animals etc.
